Fernie Ski Patrol

Steve Ruskay is a professional member of the Canadian Avalanche Association, and a senior Avalanche Control Route leader and blaster for the Fernie Alpine Resort Ski Patrol. Steve is also an Avalanche Skills Training course provider, and directs the Youth Avalanche Education program in the Elk Valley. Fernie has been his winter home since 2003. Steve spends his summers guiding sea kayaking expeditions in the Canadian Arctic.
