Race routes will vary in length, starting with a shorter 3-4km course for the first event, 5-7km course for the second event, and finishing with a 7-9km event. To minimize contact points and ensure we are adhering to the public health recommendations surrounding COVID-19, we will NOT be taking onsite registrations. ALL registrations must be completed ONLINE before 6:00 pm on race day.
Registrations for each event will be limited, so get in quick to secure your spot!
Entry fee is $5 (includes race and post-race drink at Legends Mountain Eatery).
Lift ticket or a season pass not required for this event.
Note: The registration link is for all three dates, but you don’t have to register for all events at once.
All racers must check-in at Guest Services on the day of the race to pay their $5 registration fee and collect their bib number. The designated check-in desk will be open from 12 pm – 6 pm on race day.
Racing will start at 6:30 pm with stagger start times to avoid any crowding at the start area. Everyone will be assigned a specific start time based on their running experience indicated on their registration and will be asked to arrive at the start area no more than 5 minutes prior to their start time.
Runners will be released one at a time to spread people out. If you wish to run with someone from your personal contact group (friend, family, or roommate), please indicate this in the registration form so we can assign the same start time.
All races are timed using Webscorer and runners will get their timed results at the end of each race. After each race, all participants are entered into a prize draw for awesome products from The North Face (regardless of what place they finished in).
For those competitive racers out there… your results of each race still count towards the overall series title! Competitors will earn points from each race based on their finish standings. At the final race on September 1st, we will also give out Series Prizes to the top 3 finishers in each category based on these point standings. Racers must compete in a minimum of 2 races over the season to be eligible for the overall series title and points from each all races count, so the more races you do the better your chance of being the series champion!
Course: The race course will be announced closer to race day and posted both on the Fernie Alpine Resort Facebook page.

The waiver(s) just have to be completed once and will cover the whole series.
All waivers must be completed online before 6 pm on race day. No paper waivers will be available this year!
IMPORTANT note for competitors 15yr and younger doing the waivers online – your parent must complete BOTH the EVENT & PARENTAL WAIVERS (you will get 2 confirmation emails – one with the event waiver and one with the parental wavier). Please do not miss one or the other – you cannot complete your registration or pick up your bike plate until both waivers are complete.
What ability of trail runner do I need to be?
Runners should have at least intermediate trail running ability. The trails involved with the races will be a combination of single track and mountain access roads so runner should have sufficient technique and endurance to deal with mountain terrain including elevation gain/loss and being able to run on uneven terrain with roots and rocks. Some weeks will be easier and some weeks will be more technical. We will post the course on Wednesday to give the runners an idea of the length of course.
What gear do we need for the race? Will there be water on course?
All racers are asked to gear up as they would for any trail run they would go on. Wear footwear and clothing that is appropriate for trail running and the weather/temperature. We strongly recommend runners to carry water/use a hydration pack as there is no water or aid station along the course. We also remind runners that our trail system is within local wildlife habitat and while our trail and patrol teams do regular trail checks and monitor wildlife activity, wildlife is constantly moving and there is always a possibility that you may encounter wildlife during the run as you would on any other trail within the town. Make sure to make your presence known when running and if you normally carry or run with bear spray to continue to do so up here
