The Crown is an historical television series that chronicles the life of Queen Elizabeth II from the 1940s to modern times. Given that the monarchy is such an important part of the British identity, and that Elizabeth II has been on the throne since the early 1950s, it makes sense that films would be made about her.

Like most of you, I’ve been spending a lot of time online lately. Unlike most of you, I normally spend a great deal of time online, so I have been perhaps a little less off-kilter than some of you have in moving most of my social life online. However, despite my comfort level even I enjoy a little group socializing now and then.

Netflix has produced some remarkable films over the years. This month I would like to celebrate their incredible artistic output by providing a list of my top five favourite films produced by the streaming service
