It's Hearth time and these local artists have been busy, busy, busy!! This year marks the seventh annual holiday sale. Join artists Sarah Pike, Michael Hepher, Holly Kimola, Janet McIntyre, Katherine Russell, and Nichole Yanota for two evenings of Hearthy good times. This year you'll find pottery, jewelry, letterpress prints, paintings, printmaking, leather work, handmade lamps, and blown and fused glass! Support your local artists and buy handmade this holiday season!

I started this journey with clay as a child making clay frogs and heavy bowls at an art centre in Vancouver. At 14, I bussed tables to buy my first kiln. I attended Alberta College of Art and Design with intentions of being a painting major, but one first-year class in ceramics brought me back to my earthy beginnings. There is something extremely engaging about immersing your hands in clay and all its processes, its tactile nature, its rainy scent, its infinite possibilities.

Ever since I was three years old, I have loved to dance. At first, I just loved wearing pink skirts, twirling in circles, seeing my friends at ballet class and pretending to be a real ballerina. Then I began to perform in shows, and compete in competitions, and the fire really started. I absolutely loved the costumes, the makeup and the back-stage butterflies, but more than anything I loved to be on stage.
