This free event is hosted by Library program coordinator Ani Hepher and her library helpers. Snacks will be available. Please be mindful of the age restriction for this event.

The Pits Planet Earth hit the stage with their art rock/power pop as part of the Fernie & Elk Valley Pride Festival. $10 Door donated to the Fernie Pride Society.

As adults, our lives are filled with tasks and timelines and schedules, to the point where we need to actively work on that connection with our spirit. While our kids might not be aware of it, they more easily live in this way and it’s something to be celebrated and emulated.

Sara believes fun and celebration is important. “It creates visibility.” Events such as Drag Queen Story Time and Bingo with Drag Queens exposes different age groups to the LGBTQ community. 

It takes a lot of spirit to maintain our trail network. With over 300 kilometres of trails, we could not maintain and build our trails without the dedication of our volunteers.

On Thursday October 3rd from 6:30pm, the Fernie Chamber of Commerce will host a local candidate forum ahead of Canada’s next federal election on Monday October 21st. The forum will be held at the Best Western Plus Fernie Mountain Lodge located at 1622 7th Avenue, Fernie. Doors will open at 6pm and the forum will begin at 6:30pm sharp.

Nominations for the 2019 Fernie Business Excellence Awards closed on Friday September 13th 2019 with 188 individual nominations made.

The Columbia Basin Trust provides over $1.9 million for 12 community projects. Picture: Jaffray Community Hall will be upgraded to create an inviting useable community space.

Outdoor public spaces like parks, downtown cores and waterfronts will become even more welcoming as 12 communities receive over $1.9 million to create, restore or enhance these locations. The funding comes from Columbia Basin Trust’s Community Outdoor Revitalization Grants.

Join the Elk River Alliance for this year's 9th annual Elk River Shoreline Cleanup! Volunteers are encouraged to meet in Fernie, Sparwood and Elkford to adopt sites along the river to remove refuse and noxious weeds.
