Fernie Scavenger Hunt - Fairy Donation Box
While we are unsure what the future will look like, we are sure we have beautiful wilderness surrounding us with well-maintained trails providing access to many inspirational spots. Each month, we will provide an image and some directions to a location which is also the home to one of the artistic donation boxes in Fernie’s trail network. Hike, bike or run to this location in June and head to Edge of the World for a sticker! Get to all four this summer, and you will be entered in the grand prize draw! Have fun, and enjoy the trails.
Here is the first challenge.
The Mushroom/ Fairy Donation Box at Fairy Creek Falls
Starting at the Visitor Center trail head on Highway 3, follow the signs to Fairy Creek Falls. Keep an eye out for the mushroom donation box to your left just before the falls. This trail is recommended as a hike but can be biked part of the way. These are all two-way trails so make sure you make lots of noise when hiking or biking to let other trail users and wildlife know you are coming. Always follow the rules of the trail, wear proper safety attire and make sure your bike is in good working order. Trail maps are available for free on the Trailforks app, with additional descriptions and directions to trailheads. Download it before you go. Remember these trails are built and maintained by a volunteer organization so please feel free to leave a donation in one of the custom FTA donation boxes.
