Winter Concert Series: Wil at The Arts Station
Take a pinch of lyrical sweetness and optimism, add a smattering of road weary darkness and serve it up live like it's your last night on Earth and you’ll have an inkling of the Canadian contemporary roots outfit known simply as WiL.
Coined by press as "the best acoustic guitar player ever", WiL is the first to maintain that is not true but he will concede that he possesses a very particular style; one that comes with a measure of inherent talent and an immeasurable amount of experience; both on and off the road. As such he has had the honor of sharing the stage with music heavyweights like Burton Cummings, Feist, Ray LaMontagne and Mavis Staples.
Armed with a new arsenal of songs, the trio is out to road test tracks off the forthcoming album ‘Gold Mine’ due out later this year.
Live, he delivers his eclectic brand of contemporary roots inspired rock with band mates Keith Gallant (drums) and Lena Birtwistle (keys/vocals).
Wednesday February 7th, 8pm, doors at 7:30pm.
