From December 1 to April 30, the Fernie Museum is hosting the exhibit, Treasures and Curiosities from the Fernie Museum Collections, which draws on its 10,000 + artifact collection.

This short talk by Fort Steele Heritage Town curator Jessica Van Oostwaard will provide fascinating insights into the different aspects of collections management as it pertains to small museums and managing personal collections. We will touch on topics such as policy, standards, record keeping, acquisitions and cataloguing. Fernie Museum Executive Director Ron Ulrich will follow Jessica and provide an update of the Fernie Museum’s upcoming collections management project – the rehousing and recataloguing of its 10,000 + object collection.

Advance tickets are recommended and can be purchased at the Fernie Museum. Members of the Fernie Museum and the Fernie Seniors Centre, $13.00; Non-members, $15.00. Includes admission to the Fernie Museum to view the Treasures and Curiosity exhibit.
