Secret Stash

It’s just as sweet as its namesake brownie at Freshies - the Secret Stash. Everyone has one, and to some, it’s a true secret. It’s that go-to place on the mountain on a powder day that never disappoints. Or, it could be that special place after a powder day has come and gone where you know you’ll still find some great powder turns. Most of us have a few secret stashes in our back pocket, and depending on the weather, the crowds, and what’s open, we’ll head in to a certain stash. Sometimes even passing by what looks like an amazing line, because we know that where we’re headed is (hopefully) even more amazing.

It’s a personal thing, but perhaps we can find a few folks willing to share – at least a little bit…

Where’s your secret stash?
When Currie Bowl opens, and the crowd heads into Currie Glades or Concussion, my eyes are set on the pathway to Lizard Bowl, as skiing Lone Fir into Easter Bowl, top to bottom untouched is my all time favourite run. The powder is deep here. That's if I make it past Sky Dive without getting sucked into its contoured, lengthy and fun descent.

Where’s your secret stash?
Best lap on a pow day: Timber chair by 10am, up White Pass Chair, over to the Saddles into Lizard Bowl or into Currie Bowl and out the First Aid Trail to the Bear Chair. Up the Bear Chair for a Cedar lap, Snake Ridge if you’re lucky. Back up the Boom Chair for a Lizard Bowl lap all the way to the bottom and repeat!

Where’s your secret stash?
Christine: Alpha Centauri - a short, but sweet little gem that winds through open trees. It's not a run that you will find listed on the trail map, which helps keep it secret! Okay – here’s a hint: Currie Bowl...
Coby: Holiday – especially the tunnel section.

Lone Fir… this is a run that combines all the great things that the resort has to offer: a steep, powder pocket, view of the valley from the top of the world, and its off the beaten path. I love looking down the shoot - this lone tree in the middle - with the option to choose a route that will rock your world.
